Get Your Style Icon Beyond the Show Business - Avantika

Why do we always turn to actresses, pop stars, and models, when we need to idolize someone in terms of fashion? Move over the show biz, ladies. We have style pouring out from our political arenas, sport courts and royal palaces. Here is a list of women who are worshiped for their style globally, may be you start idolizing them too.

Queen Rania of Jordan: With her poise, grace, wisdom and pronounced sense of minimalist style, Queen Rania has lived to be a moving role model for women worldwide. Throughout these years, Queen Rania has been signifying the Middle Eastern fashion in the most notable way, and has claimed to be titled as the Arab style icon. The royal lady is mostly spotted in the ensembles of eminent Middle Eastern fashion designers, like Krikor Jabotian, Elie Saab, Sarah’s Bag, and Aennis Eunis among others. Whether in traditional Arabic attire, modish daywear, or haute couture gowns, Queen Rania demonstrated that her majestic style is exactly what a queen should be in.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: If you don’t find a striking similarity in the personalities of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her late grandmother Mrs Indira Gandhi, you better get your eyes diagnosed. This charismatic daughter of the Gandhi family has brought into being what the fashion gurus call ‘power dressing’. Given her political stature, Priyanka’s natural flair is a sense of intelligent fashion.  Widely applauded for her effortless style and tons of authority oozing out of those indigenous sarees, this fashionable Indian neta shows to the world, that one doesn’t need to bare it all to be a style icon.

Diana, Princess of Wales: She became the style icon to watch for, from the day she stepped out of the car in her David and Elizabeth Emanuel wedding dress. This was just the beginning of the Princess Diana era. As she went global for her charity, her fashion followed. The Princess of Wales certainly was beyond influential in personality and she didn’t own much of it to her royal title. Her media hoarded appearances were to die for. She has a long list of gowns that have secured a page for themselves in the glossiest of magazines. Her iconic ‘Revenge Dress’ proved that she was not in to take any sh#t, not even from the Prince.

Sania Mirza: This diva from the tennis court owns a distinct style of her own and also manages to carry it with ultimate panache. Though she had to deal with a lot of communal criticism for her choice of outfit at one point in time, all those blows are far behind her now.  She climbed up to be a youth icon at a very young age, and doesn’t fail to mesmerize as a style icon even today. Having graced runways for most eminent designers in the country, Mirza, openly admits to her haunch for good clothes and accessories. Despite the nose pin being an eminent part of Indian traditional jewelry, it owes its entry to the high fashion closet in the late 2000s, to Miss Mirza, whose diamond nose ring was almost her signature. Be it casual western wear, or an Indian traditional ensemble, the very sporty girl from Hyderabad knows how to get the shutterbugs buzzing!

Kate Middleton: Following the footsteps of late mother-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, rose up to be the style icon of the classes worldwide just the moment she stepped into the British royalty. Her wedding gown was an elegant long sleeved lace piece designed by Sarah Burton and was widely copied across borders. She shows a preference for English designers, but the Duchess has been spotted in a few American designers while touring America. She does give a break to dressy frocks and team up a casual jeans with an equally affordable T-shirt every now and then. Followed by numerous bloggers for her style choices, she has been appreciated for repeating her ensembles and being responsive to the economic status of the country.  The fashion know-it-alls often find conscious similarity between Kate’s style and lady Diana’s.

Hina Rubani Khar: Pakistan has undoubtedly produced some of the most gorgeous and stylist women ministers. Elected member of the national assembly from the seat of Pakistan People’s Party, Hina Rubani Khan is one of these female politicians who have been widely written about for her high taste of fashion. Her dresses remain the thing of media attention everywhere she goes, but what is the envy of every women, is perhaps her extensive collection of designer handbags. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan has thus made it to the list of world’s most glamorous women politicians.

Now you know, if you are still exploring to find your style, there is a lot, above and beyond Hollywood or Bollywood to find inspiration. Don’t limit yourself to people who, you have no idea, look like what beneath the multiple layers of make-up and fake plastic features.
